The Way Home
Shanell & BC Properties LLC provide housing for people and veterans who were chronically at risk of becoming homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless by providing life-saving outreach, shelter, and housing and by fostering their personal growth and independence. We advocate for and create affordable housing to end homelessness in our communities.
Housing Services
Central to our commitment to ending homelessness is housing. Through Housing Services, Shanell & BC Properties LLC staff work with clients to get into housing and access the services they need to stay housed indefinitely.
Supportive Housing - Congregate Sites
Shanell & BC Properties LLC serves over 150 people who are living in apartment buildings, duplexes, and houses that are dedicated specifically for supportive housing.
Rapid Re-Housing
Shanell & BC Properties LLC is committed to getting people into permanent housing as quickly as possible because people are better able to access services effectively after they are housed. Rapid Re-Housing moves people directly from instances of homelessness into their own rental units by providing short-term financial assistance in the form of initial rent, security deposits, and/or utility assistance. Shanell & BC Properties LLC has been a Housing First agency since 2005, and in 2009, we began offering Rapid Re-Housing. Each year, we help over 150 people get into their own homes in Cobb, Conyers, and Douglass counties through this program.
Housing Security
The goal of Housing Security is to keep people housed. Shanell & BC Properties LLC supports those with disabilities or at an economic disadvantage through a variety of services that deal with the many obstacles to maintaining permanent housing. The following programs are designed to increase housing stability and eliminate a return to homelessness.
Veterans Services
Includes a variety of programs and services for men and women who have served in the US military and are homeless or at risk. Military Veterans experience post-traumatic stress, injury, and other unique challenges as they return from duty and reintegrate into society. We offer a variety of programs and housing that meet the specific needs of military Veterans and their families so that the people who served our country are not forgotten.
Affordable Housing
In a period of rising rents and a high cost of living, our permanent housing properties provide affordable housing for income-eligible families and individuals. Among our properties, we offer independent living for seniors, supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals, and affordable apartments for low-income and working-class households. We believe that healthy communities are socially and economically diverse, bringing together people from all walks of life.
Each year, thousands of families in our community struggle with homelessness and poverty. At Shanell & BC Properties LLC, we serve families in our emergency, transitional, and supportive housing programs, providing case management, support, and resources for those in need. With a focus on finding permanent housing, we help ensure these families live in a safe, caring community.
